FAQ
Will the file size be larger?
Usually yes. PNG is lossless, so a photo as PNG is typically several times larger than as JPG. For photos, JPG is usually a better choice.
Does transparency survive the conversion?
Yes, if the source format supports it. JPG sources have no transparency to preserve. WebP, GIF, and SVG transparency comes through to PNG.
Do you compress the PNG?
The browser writes a standard PNG. We do not strip metadata or apply additional optimization. Use a dedicated optimizer if file size matters.
Is the conversion private?
