Why does my WebP convert to a much larger JPG?

Will the JPG lose quality compared to the WebP?

At quality 85 the difference is rarely visible. Both formats are lossy, so each is a separate compression. If you need a perfectly faithful copy, convert to PNG instead.

What if my WebP has transparency?

JPG does not support transparency. The transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose. White is the default; pick another color with the background picker.
