FAQ
Why do transparent PNGs come out with a white background?
JPG does not support transparency. The transparent pixels need a color. White is the default; you can pick any color with the background picker.
Does the original PNG get deleted from my computer?
No. We never touch your original. The JPG is a brand new file. Your PNG stays exactly where it is.
How much smaller will the JPG be?
For photo-like PNGs, expect 3-10x smaller. For graphics with flat colors, the gain is smaller, sometimes even bigger as JPG. PNG is often better for that case.
Can I keep the transparency somehow?
Not in JPG. If you need transparency, use WebP or PNG as your output instead.
What about quality loss?
JPG compression is visible only on close inspection at 85 quality. For most uses, the loss is imperceptible.
